Would someone care to explain how News Magazine Of The Screen was assembled? Were they preassembled, and then the school library would put their logo in front of it? Or were the libraries in control of what could go into each film, like they had a library of footage they could choose from?

The News Magazine of the Screen was a re-edit of the Warner Pathé newsreel for educational distribution. Some of the stories are similar or identical to the newsreel stories released in theaters (especially the "harder news" pieces), while others were edited for other Pathé short subjects and excerpted here. Still others were made from library material especially for the NMS films. The NMS films were sponsored by local or regional companies, who'd pay to have their identity edited into the films and then distribute them locally themselves or through free-loan distributors such as Modern Talking Picture. The films themselves have nothing to do with the schools that distributed them and whose leader one sometimes sees at the head.
